Hi just looking for your opinions on putting an RCBO on as busbar protected by an RCD, the reason i ask is the manufacturer doesnt make a 45A MCB but does make a 45A RCBO.
or leave the circuit on a 40A MCB even though the manufacturer of the oven asks for a 45A supply?
Hi, I'm interested in this lamp which has a 12V AC filament bulb. It sits in a MR16 fitting, so I was thinking: If I power it with 12V DC instead of 12V AC, and replace the light bulb by a 12V DC LED bulb, it should work.
Would it work? Would it be safe?

Could someone who uses this software tell me what the Rated Time Delay box is for when filling out the Main switch/ Switch-Fuse/ Circuit-breaker/ RCD section of an EIC?
Is it for the recommend range in which a time delayed rcd should trip 130 - 500ms... or is it something else?
Hi
I have been to look at some down lights in a basement flat that are not working. There is a mixture of MR16 lv lights and GU10,some of the fittings are fire rated approx 10 of them and another 12 that are not. There is a shop above the flat with another flat above that.
So my question is...

Just wanted opinions on the above
I know there are various factors that could sway opinion...
Customers that have a large house with downlights throughout are not too pleased when you give them a four figure quote to rip out the lot......

Hi guys,
want your opinion on a issue I have found while changing a consumer unit today.
I came across the shower wired in 6.0mm on a 32amp MCB (8.5KW). I know this will draw just over 35amps and could do with being upgraded to a 40amp MCB, but checking the install of the cable it is going...

Hi Guys,
Just a quick one,
I recently completed an EICR, the MCBS were push in wylex 3871 with a breaking capacity of 1 or2 kA depending on the size. The property's PFC was 3 kA so I graded it as C2.
My question is can I put in push in 60898 MCB's with a Breaking capacity of 6ka and put the...

I have read somewhere, maybe in BS7671 or on a forum site regulation that states that 16mm meter tails can or should be used on supplies rated at 80amps or under and 25mm tails on supplies rated at 100amps.
I have scoured BS7671 and various forums but cannot find this...

Hi,
I was looking at the MK switches as we wanted
them to match with the sockets.
But they only have a 32A switch which
matches, the 50A switch is quite large.
Will the 32A switch be ok for this induction hob?

Hi all,
I’m completely new to any kind of electrical work and would be grateful if you guys could confirm my setup to be correct.
I’ll try to be as clear as I can:
I have 220V coming from my Wall Socket, so I assume I have 220V to use.
What I’d like to do is, use the...

I need to switch 2No 3kW heaters on using a 7 day heating programmer. Presumably I'll need a contactor to switch that load rather than the heating programmer (?).
Can anyone recommend a suitable one? Many thanks if anyone can help,
