Hello,
Im confused as to why I'm getting a high zs value at the socket but all r1 rn r2
ze is 0.5 but zs is .98
The other problem is a had a rcd won't trip but for some reason when something is plugged in it trips the other rcd.
All circuits bell out and test fine so could it be the rcd...

I have my Am2 this week and am getting confused with what reading is to be placed in schedule of test results.
I understand for PFC to take the highest reading between 3 phase and earth but have to then go between phases & N to find PSCC.
Is it PSCC reading then doubled and put on back of test...
When testing appliances with a detachable IEC power lead, what's the recommendation for recoding the earth continuity value, do you record the higher value including the lead resistance, or exclude the earth resistance of the lead from the actual appliance.
This assuming that the lead is tested...
When unable to carry out a Zs test on a lighting circuit (large/heavy chandelier type lighting), then the R1+R2 + Ze measurements are instead used and this is noted, but is it the norm to still write this value in the Zs box on the schedule of test results or just in the notes. I ask because...

Hi guys I am rather perplexed as I have recently fitted a dual RCD Sentry (App 3 compliant) consumer unit. I am suffering a random tripping pattern with one of the RCD's (63A, 30mA) which sometimes pops the other (80A 30mA) at the same time. I have stripped everything down and insulation...
I've recently carried out a full rewire of a domestic property which had a supply to a garage by use of an armoured in ducting run underground. I have taken a new feed to the adaptable box that said armoured is terminated into and have tested the armoured itself and all is ok. My question is, as...

Hey Guys
I've got a bit of a head scratcher that I was hoping someone could help with.
I have a ring main feeding 7 points. When testing IR btw L&N I get 967Mohm but when testing N-E & L-E I get 455Mohm. I split the ring and tested as 2 radials and the results suddenly come back all clear at...
Hi, I have been asked to test a property as the meter has been ripped out by the previous tenants and the supplier need dead test results before they install a new meter, Has anyone done this for a supplier and do they need a condition report or just a schedule of test results?

When testing ring final circuits end to end tests confirming the ring. I have recently been informed that the results for L-L and N-N should be within 0.05 ohms. I know that they should be the same, but where...
Hi hope someone can advise; ive not done alot of testing or filling out eic's and am a bit stumped on this. I have run the usual dead tests on a 3 core swa cable used on a final circuit all tests are good. However the amour (which needs to carry the full fault current), does it not need to be...

Once asked if a normal Multi Meter could do most of what a PAT tester could (ie saver £££ £350 for the machine an £75 for it to be tested) <Shows how slow i am at recalling things> but some years ago i did 2377-22 and didnt recall it from there.
I do own the 3rd Edition Code of Practice for...

Okay, I've got a pretty unusual problem that I've had over the last couple of days and I'd welcome some advice on this.
Currently we are carrying out electrical works on barn conversions into single and two bed homes. Fairly small, single storey.
Carried out second fix - sockets, lights...
I have just been carrying out an EICR and I have got some results that I am unsure about.
The property has 2 ovens on the same circuit, the circuit has a line-earth IR of 0.004Mohms when the cooker isolation switch of one of the ovens (oven 1) is closed, and 0.4Mohms when the other cooker...
Hi I'm new here,
Been working for a company carrying out electrical testing for the past 5 years and was governed by how they wanted there test certificates completed (They had there own version for a large water company) I've recently changed jobs to a newish company that are not experianced...
Eh up :)
I don't do EICRs - not enough experience - but the things I see on some reports done by others really dismay me. Perhaps some of my understanding needs improving, I dunno. Or perhaps the CPSes have their own set of guidelines different from the sources I use? In the examples below, I'm...
