I’ve got some Centaur dado trunking from years ago (2 1/2 lengths of it) from CEF.
Got some lid for it, but not enough.
Does other makes of trunking lids and boxes fit? I’m looking on eBay for cheap accessories rather than go back to CEF just for my own office.
Evening people,
Was hoping someone could help me with this problem I'm having.
I am writing up my portfolio NVQ and writing about installing metal trunking. On the OSG page 143 table D4, column number 1 list the trunking sizes by cross sectional area. The trunking I have used was 100mm x...
Evening people, my first time posting here. :D
Apologies if it isn't in the right category.
I am currently writing up my portfolio/NVQ for my apprenticeship and I am looking at table D4 in the OSG. Trying to find 100mm x 100mm metal trunking on column one but they are listed as cross sectional...
Hi guys, I had to carry out some alterations to a domestic installation the other day and was pleasantly surprised when having to run a new circuit how neat the CU was. It had 75mm metal trunking installed to the CU with bass bushes installed. A lot of effort had gone in to it to keep it neat...
The use of fire-resistant clips to avoid premature collapse of cables is obviously a good thing, but what about when the cables are in plastic (PVC-U) trunking that offers metal clips for this reason. The reason for asking is I am looking at some options just now (Marshall-Tufflex Mono Plus 20)...
Looking to put in some dado style trunking for a few power circuits and some Ethernet sockets, ideally metal type from a fire/EMC point of view.
I had though of using the Marshall-Tufflex "System 130" (or maybe the bigger 170) steel system but wondered if the folks on here have any better...
Hi, silly question but in College we only learned how to mark up holes for end caps. I’m just wondering what the standard practice is for marking holes in steel trunking for attaching couplers?
The previous Electrician I was working with we used templates but there’s non on this site so i’m...
Next question on the date my install game.
When did the practice of installing seperate cpcs in trunking become the norm?
The 'original' part (the rewire when the VIR was replaced) of the install I am trying to establish an age for is entirely in enameled trunking which has been used as the...
What code would you attach to this gem, I gave it C2. These terminals are contained within steel trunking but are also part of a live 3 phase cct. See picture. It is installed as a 100 Amp 3 phase ring with these terminals every few metres. Distribution boards are connected from these terminals...
Just wondering how your guys observe the reg, for preventing premature collapse of cables in plastic trunking, when securing to plasterboard, i.e. dry lined or plasterboard stud walls?
We’re having some additional fire alarm work carried out, and they mention some ‘clips’ to comply. I was...
The client has decided that redundant circuits, created by us by decommissioning obsolete equipment, should be, in the first instance, removed completely. If this can be shown to be unsafe, cutting back a metre at each end would suffice.
I seem to remember a regulation that unused conductors in...
hi guys just bare with me please still learning lol! if i have connected my steel trunking to the metal frame work via bush and cuplin and and the steel frame is earthed and i can prove continuity from my trunking to the steel work do i still need to earth my steel trunking and also do i need...
Hi all
Recently my company (I'm just an employee) moved into a new unit and have installed some shelving, the BigDug kind.
We've had plug sockets located above (2) each unit to provide power. This was done by the electrician so that's all good.
I need a plug socket on each shelf (5 in total)...
Hi, not done many showers 9.5kw shower, clipped direct, 10mm cable, 40amp MCB no issues the thing I wanted to ask was, there was existing feed too small so new cable all newish tiles so going to run some 25x16mm trunking now do many shower have any knockouts on top? Or will I have to make my own...
Hi all!
I was having a bit of a to do with a colleague of mine regarding busbar trunking.
We both agreed during our inspection that a busbar deserves it’s own test sheet as it is a method of distribution which each “tap off” denoting a separate circuit. However I argued that the ‘Zdb and...
Hey all,
Excuse the ignorance here but I wonder if you lovely folk might have any opinions or better still be able to point in the right direction in the BBB.
I am being asked to move a CU from its current position, behind a fitted kitchen, under the sink and totally inaccessible, except to the...
Hi Guys, an old existing 25mm - TP & N SWA Supply cable is glanded (No Banjo) to a 3" Metal Trunking end cap, & the remainder of the circuit cables are contained in the same trunking forming the CPC back to the Distribution Board. With a method 2 continuity & an insulation test, can you be...
