Hi , could someone help me please , I did an eicr yesterday. Few questions now
the ccu is the old Wylex board with push in type mcb's 3871 type , what is the main switch bs en number ? Can I say its a limitation as it's not evident ?
the Ze I recorded is 0.63 ohms it's a tncs , is this a c2 or...
Ok so we no that for are insulation resistance tests 1 M ohm is the acceptable value well greater than that is but how do work out say for a 6 amp b type breaker how low would your reading have to go before it takes the breaker out
Hi all, sorry if this is in the wrong section, wasnt too sure where to post it
Basically ive started college a few weeks late so im having to play catch up at home to get to where the rest of the class are at
Ive come across a question on my work sheet which im not sure how to work out and...
hi all I am currently working as a mate the contractor I'm working for which I shall not name does the following test.
he only measures zs doesn't do continuity r1 r2 he says that there is a good earth return if these results are within those permitted, he takes his ze from his zs to obtain his...
any help on this one very much appreciated.
We have a stand alone 3 phase workshop any generator installation. The supply is TN-S, seperate PE back to the generator, which has its own earth electrode.
Ze for the system is in effect the short circuit impedance at the generator between a live...
Cant quite get my head around how you use this reg?
Lets say S =16
I = 657
k = 115
You have to work out t first of all so
t = K2S2/I2
so t = 7.843409 (to 6dp)
therfore K2S2 = 3385600
The reg says that we need to make sure that K2S2 is greater than the value of the let through energy...
Can anyone help me out with value engineering a job.
I have a list of items that have been specified and I am trying to come up with alternative suggestions/ maunfacturers of the items that may be regarded the same in quality but cheaper in cost.
Schneider Switch gear/ distribution boards...
hello, i got this qustion and would like someone to show me the working out of it please.
the measured value of loop impedance for a circuit is 0.83 ohms. if the temperature at the time of the test was 20c and the cable is 70c (factor1.2), what is the correct value. ze = 0.4 ohms

I have done some searching on this product on this forum,but most of the posts are nearly year old now and technology seems to be moving on. My son rents a two bedroom flat, which is totally populated with GU10/MR16 Halogen lamps. Like most parents, it falls to us it seems to replace the bulbs...
A number of cables are tested for installation resistance. The highest individual value is 200M ohm and the lowest is 20Mohm. The measured value, when all cables are connected in parallel, will be?
A. great than 200M
B. 200M
C. Less than 20M
D. The sum of the individual values.
Hi,
I just done a job today and got some reading of 7ohms, on continuity of a light circuit (B6 CB) this is the highest I have yet seen
is this still ok? Or is this a problem?
Cheers

I'm scratching my on this because I've never done it before. I'm on a new build school wire with quite a few computer RFC's using 2.5 T&E + a 4mm single Earth that we are just pulling in now. When it comes to us testing these circuits, how do I/we record the results?
Both the 1.5mm CPC and the...
Hi all
In order to measure your pefc pscc, you need to test across all 3 line conductors then multiply by 2 record the highest value, this is correct isnt it.
Posted this in the heating section earlier but didn't get a response. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Hi Guys,
I've just swapped over to a Fluke 1654B MFT and I have a question about measuring the Re using the loop test function.
Anyway, on the full caffeine loop test there is a little button where you can toggle the lower display to swap between PEFC measurement and the Re element of the Ze...
