Just got called to quote for a new job, and as part of doing so I asked to check the board. This is a Niglon board, fitted by a sparky about 18 months ago. Answers on a postcard if you can spot an issue!! Bonus point if you can guess the four letter word I muttered.
The lamp posts on a small lane near me have had blue triangles painted in front of them. It looks like these are to mark the presence of a small metal pin, similar in appearance to a rivet.
Anyone know what they are for? Too small to be an earth rod.
I have the following alarm system, but I've just purchased a new Ring alarm bundle that I want to swap it for.
Couple of reasons why I haven't just ripped this out to start over with my new one:
1. The original alarm keypad by my door has a power cable I'd like to use for the new Ring keypad...

Long lead back to the MET and got a reading of 0.04ohms... brilliant right?
I submitted my report and got a phone call later and my boss told me...

It might be easier to list the few things right with it. I have noted what appears to be burnt or frayed hot wires. I have only seen the pictures provided but this looks less than professional to me. The house is 1957 construction and may have aluminum wiring (probable cause for the burnt...
Hello all,
I recently redecorated my living room which meant stripping off the wallpaper. While doing so, some moisture got into the living room light switch (it's a 2-way). I took off the switch plate to dry it out but noticed a wire seemed to be unconnected. I'm assuming this black wire...

Hi all,
Really dumb question!
Is there a trick to removing these downlights, this feels like it's built into the plaster board, normally I just twist, wiggle and pull down and the springs go back and down drops the light. This one just pulls the plaster down. What am I missing?
Thanks,
Martin
