Ive had this transformer a few years and never had a problem. I used it about 2 months ago then put it in the shed. I have now taken it out and its blowing the trip in my house for some reason.

The shed I left it in has been leaking water and I have had to clear all my tools out of it but have left transformer next to radiator for past month. Saying that, there was not that much water getting through and Im only putting it down to a slight possibility that was the cause.

Im just wondering if there is anything that can be done or should I just bin it and fork out for a new one....

before you bin it, do a IR test ( Land N shorted and test to E ). is it tripping RCD or MCB?

well if the sheds been leakin water......wouldnt that give you the hint eh?.....
go dry it out....

a Residual Current Device is designed to find fault, if it keeps tripping, I assume their is a fault.
its not "blowing the trip for some reason" its doing what it was designed to do and preventing electric shock.

how inconvenient!

lokks like he's either sorted it or blown hisself up. disappearing OP, again.

OK Glenn, he'd left it by the radiator so it had some company. How could I have assumed he was trying to dry it out. Jeez.

Ive had it beside the radiator when we were using the oil heating and its also been sat in front of the open fire whenever the fire was lit and this would be great solution for drying things.

I will check shortly if its still blowing trip and which trip it is blowing...
