1st assessment help

i have my 1st periodic assessment coming up and must show that my buisness has a written health and safety policy statement??. i have seen the one available to download on niceic website but i am a soletrader with no employees. is it still suitable for me? also i need prove that risk assessments are carried out,does this need to be written? any help would be gratefully recieved

Acording to the HSE
If you have fewer than five employees you do not have to write anything down, though it is useful so that you can review it at a later date if, for example, something changes.

A policy statement is just that, just have one in your company folder, I attached one for you written by some consultants some a few years ago, may need updating

Been with them nearly 5 years now. Cracking outfit, easy going. Search my posts i have written many on this subject.

Basically no fears if your are properly equiped, safe and can prove you are competent. Any bits and bats like H&S policy and risk assesment forms that you dont have he will give you.

Good and fair assessors who like us appreciate a good brew and talk about the weather etc.
