ok i have completed the majority of the questions however there are 2 that are giving me a headache:

What are the advantages and limitations of fault diagnosis techniques?
(dont do a great deal of fault finding so pretty stumped on this one as much help as possible would be appreciated)

and

what are the main types, advantages and limitations of test instruments?
(this one is worded to make me think that the individual testers as opposed to a multifunction tester has limitations in its required testing area? or is it wanting the fact that each tester is only designed for a specific task??? in which case the tester has an advantage as it is speccifically designed to test that task (or am i really over thinking this))

please help as i am slowly going insane

A few guides to aim you in the right direction

Fault diagnosis:
Think about how you are applying fault diagnosis techniques, what is your source of information and how reliable is it, what are the problems of following a flow diagram approach, what are the benefits of progressing logically, what can trip you up if you follow a plan.

Test instruments:
Main types is a good start to begin with this gives you a base to think about.
obviously an insulation resistance tester will not help much with an EFLI test!
Why would you use a test instrument, what is not reliable about testing, what can cause problems with a tester, what can cause variations in readings.
If you have an MFT what are the benefits and disadvantages of this compared to singles.
what other test instruments might you need, but perhaps not have.
