Does anyone know of a college offering these courses in the north west, I've emailed a few just waiting for replays.

I've seen independent training providers charging around 2k for these, I would have thought colleges are cheaper..?

Cheers.

Im going to be doing my 2394 and 2395 but bit confused. will i be able to sign my own work out with level 2,3 2365 , 17th edition and 2394,5?

you dont need 2391,2392,2394 or 2395 to sign off you own work.

it is recommended that you have testing and inspection to test other peoples work but im not sure if thats a legal requirement

I imagine that the legal requirement is couched in terms of 'competence'. Each one of us needs to ask ourselves: 'How can I prove my competence?'.

These qualifications are a 'benchmark' which if standards are consistently maintained by the training and examination agencies enable you to 'prove' to a third party the potential level of your competence. If you have some alternative logged experience or qualification which demonstrates that you are competent then whenever someone calls into question your competence they may or may not have the required knowledge to understand and interpret the evidence that you have to offer. If your employer is a professional in your field then they will be well placed to do this; if not, however, the existence of the 'common currency' of a qualification framework such as City & Guilds enables you to trade your skills for remuneration in the marketplace of the world of electrical installation and test.
