Hi, i require a little advice. 3 phase supply (100A per phase) from energy meter into 3 phase switched fuse isolator, then swa off to D.B 20 metres away. Distribution board feeds office equipment only. I need to install a supply for a 36kw 3p machine, which is going to be situated next to intake. My question is, can i tap into the switched fuse isolator, provided i can get my cable in. Then swa to 63A switched fuse to supply machine. I have spoken to 2 sparks & both have gave me different answers.

Any help appreciated.

Really depends what your max demand is on the overall installation (I'm assuming 36kW isn't a typo). If your 100A intake can handle the extra load then yes, although I wouldn't be tapping directly in to the switch fuse, I'd go into a little busbar chamber if I could, worst case scenario if cost is an issue and you can be sure of no more similar additions then tap into a few henley blocks in a nice enclosure.

Edit: beaten to it!

Thanks guys, that's really helpful. This is not my usual sort of work. Max demand is o.k just office equipment, no real loads. I like the idea of henleys in an enclosure. I shall also check out a small busbar chamber.
