Hi all, doing an IECR all the lights are via contactors, 2 X lamps on one circuit L1 --- 2 X lamps on another circuit L2 ---- and the permanent feed on another supply L3 ---

Would you you fail this installation?

would a simple label in the light saying isolate from more than one mcb be sufficient

Thansk ink in advance

Are you trying to say that the lights have 3 different phases at them, 1 phase for 2 lamps, 1 phase for the other two lamps and 1 phase for the perm feed?
4 lamps per light

Strange imo. Were the lights modified to allow this, extra control gear installed.
Just thinking why would this be done, where are they installed?
400v stickers and the relevant isolation stickers at the DB and in the fittings should be sufficient.

Absolutely positive are you? can't quite work out yet how that would work, without being modified in some way, you would have a very badly designed phase loading situation IMO

On older fire stations you sometimes get this setup but the fittings are definitely modified with extra ballasts.
L1 turns on two tubes via wall switch.
L2 turns on two tubes via a contactor when station is mobilised.
L3 used for the EM aspect of some fittings.

Surely that could all be done via one supply. 3 separate supplies at one light fitting seems dodgy to me....400v and 3 separate phases sounds like a bit of a death trap. Two switch wires and a permanent L would do the job.

To be fair all you have to do isolate the supply to the coil and the equipment will be dead.

Are you allowed under safe isolation to rely on a contactor for safe isolation, don't think so, lockable isolators spring to mind

Was pointing out that there was no need to isolate multiple circuits to work on the lights, only the control circuit to the coil. It should of course be done safely but thats down to the person whos going to work on the circuit.

Sorry yes there is a need to isolate all the circuits.
