3rd Amendment CU's Cable Entry

Ive changed several CU's all with rear cable entry,

Ive just been to look a job to change a CU with the majority of the cables surface clipped twin and earths...what is the preferred method on cable entry into the CUs?

Ive been looking and found some cable glands that are suitable for twin and earths like this:

Depends on where or how the old board is placed . Nothing wrong with mounting on a back board and feed cables though the back

for some boards you can buy a surface pattress so you can still go rear cable entry.

Nothing wrong with battens to mount the board off the wall and use the rear entry.....my preferred method these days...

Hi richo: Both the Sprint glands & grommet kits are easy to install in a board. They're all compliant with Amendment 3.

Closed grommets should suffice in most cases no? Installed properly you would maintain ip ratings

It was just a general question really as the board in question will have around 8-10 twin and earths entering one side so i was just after peoples opinions/methods on how they do it.

With that many cables, I would use either of the two methods already mentioned. You could also consider using plastic trunking, using top or bottom entry, more knockouts.

Never used them, but Hager Design 30 CU's have oblong knockouts for trunking use.

Hager design 10 have the square/ rectangular knock outs in the top for cables entering in pvc trunking and come with grommet strip.
Tho I'd use thicker grommet strip as hagers is poor.

Thats what my NAPIT inspector told me.
