It was just a general question really as the board in question will have around 8-10 twin and earths entering one side so i was just after peoples opinions/methods on how they do it.

With that many cables, I would use either of the two methods already mentioned. You could also consider using plastic trunking, using top or bottom entry, more knockouts.

Never used them, but Hager Design 30 CU's have oblong knockouts for trunking use.
 
Hager design 10 have the square/ rectangular knock outs in the top for cables entering in pvc trunking and come with grommet strip.
Tho I'd use thicker grommet strip as hagers is poor.
