Hi

I have a Radial circuit wired with 2.5mm T&E , which is protected by a 3 amp MCB due to the fact that it is switched via a home automation relay rated at 5amp.

My question is this

Given the above scenario is it ok to install/wire a BS1363 socket if I know that the load that will be plugged in will be less than 3amp or do I have to fuse down with an FCU to stop a 13amp load which may be plugged in by the home owner. If I label the socket accordingly would this be acceptable

As already mentioned , not worth any other fusing with the MCB rating that your installing , you won't get any discrimination …….

Thanks for the advice

Just out of interest , is there any situation where installing a BS1363 socket is not allowed on a radial circuit for circuits rated at less than 13 amp.

I.e would it be acceptable to have a 6 amp MCB 1.5mm T&E Radial protected circuit that uses BS1363 sockets without labelling them

I've got a stash of 3's and 4's as they're useful for making up heating control systems
