Discuss 500w Dimmer unit in the Commercial Electrical Advice area at ElectriciansForums.net

1.8 of a lamps load to compensate for inrush seems a bit low in comparison to the general (x 5 - x 10) recommendation within the google ether; although any specific compensation must be lamp dependant which im guessing Zano is basing the 1.8 on. I will call them tomorrow but I would hazard a guess its more like 1.8 - 10 depending on lamp. Might be wrong hopefully.

As said @haptism you have to look at the manufacturers data for inrush current and it can vary wildly there is no rule of thumb it can go from (for a 44w 600 x 600 panel say) 10A to 40A per fitting dependant on manufacturer and control gear.

Maybe bit late now to reply but did similar job last year (in a church) using Zano ZBarLed 1000w dimmer with rotary controller (approx. 300w of dimmable LED), worked a treat!
