Gents,

Is there a regulation on NOT been able to use singles in a pvc flexible conduit over a short distance i.e 1M. - and your thoughts please.

This example would be on a commercial installation.

Thanks

What are you installing your post is, if anything a bit vague, are you running singles up to the point you go to flexible conduit?

Depends what you call flexible conduit as well. We use certain types of 316 grade stainless Copex in very aggressive locations with good effect but if you're talking about the cheap PVC flexible that's glued together then there's a lot of places it wouldn't be suitable..

That's what conduit, be it rigid or flexible was designed for, to carry single core cables. As Scotford14 points out ''the type conduit used will be determined by the external influences present''.

The run would be from a metal trunking to a boiler in a plant room, the conduit is PVC 20mm Oil resistant, LSF.

Preference aside is there a reg against?

Cheers

If the flexible conduit is suitable for the surrounding environment ''Yes''!! But only you can access/determine the conduits suitability with regards to say mechanical protection etc....

Out of curiosity if you are using LSF kopex then why aren't you using 6491B singles instead of 6491X?
