Well hello fellow Sparkies, I'm new to the forums and I hope I can contribute half as much as I've learnt from reading your comments.
I started working with HOW ENGINEERING in 1991 (HOW southern) worked with many many many companies as a sub contractor for more years than I can remember. Could never shrug off the subbie scum title, however I'm now an electrical instructor and have been for almost two years.
Supprising coming into a college. I thought I knew how to be a spark. WRONG!!!!!
I have learnt so much over the past twenty four months and I still got a hell of a way to go.
I hope I can be of some aid with questions people may have, but just reading the posts here it seems we got a bloody good set of guys that know their stuff.
Me I'm a rocker. big fan of Hawkwind, Prog rock, and the blues. I play the guitar very badly.
I've always had a very short fuse with apprentices who are given an oppertunity to learn a trade and they just take the pee, But I've always got time for a sparks mate or improver who puts in the time and effort to do better.

Welcome aboard, I started teaching a few years ago too. Very informative how much we can forget over the years. Places like this are also excellent for 'trimming the fat' when it comes to technical knowledge.
:)

I play guitar too, and I bet I'm worse than you :p

The college is an absolute shower of rubbish. I did the PTTLS and DTTLS after a lot of headaches.
I now have an issue with the Ifl, which the college used to deal with.

My old man and I have recently started up a training centre, to which our students are thrilled. I'm now working and teaching sessionally. Best of both worlds. I couldn't stand school leavers, such a bad attitude, and never wanted to be there

Hi & welcome.:)
