Hello fellows,

Just wanted to get your thoughts on this...

I'm working on a property with a TT supply in the hills, I have tested the Ze at 13.5 Ohms, very healthy Earth Rod I thought. Only problem is that its been concreted over through the years so all that now exists is the earth cable with mechanical protection running into concrete outside. No sign of an earth rod anymore as its underground.

Id love to get your thoughts and the regs on this, and whether I should be putting in a new earthing rod or passing this one as its safe and sound underground, encased in concrete.

What do you think?

Daniel

Does anyone know for certain that it is connected to an earth rod and not, for instance, a metal utility pipe. Also you are unable to see the quality of the connection so i would think there is a case to be made for putting another rod in, or at least one in parallel - Maybe a code 3 further investigation???

if rod is unaccesible for inspection and maitenance then it does not comply with the requirements of BS 7671 i would install a new rod
