Hi,

Can anyone give me some advice on how I add a mains plug to the following circuit,
The FCU is connected to a home alarm system and I would like to add a normal plug socket, any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Firstly i would get that supply to the alarm sorted out it looks
Like the supply cable, is run with the alarm cables and very close to pipe work, also as morduch says if thats on a 32 amp fuse you can not spur of it with a socket as you only can have one point spured off the ring circuit , that if is a ring ,

You can if you go through a fused spur! Appendix 15 BS 76571

I would call in a spark, is that a ring circuit or radial? If its a radial then the 32A on a 2.5 radial is poop

If its a ring then its possible to do it, however you need to see the circuit and instalation method first before casting a decision.

Thanks guys appreciate the advice I think I need to get an electrician in and maybe somehow get another supply in the area!

and while alarm cables and LV cables in the same trunking is bad practice, it's not a hangingoffence. if it eas, half the alarm installers in the country would be swinging from lamp posts.

if only Texecom made boilers......

they might not break down so often.
