Advice from Domestic Electricians please

hi,

I work as a Careers Advisor for people leaving the military and moving onto new careers in Scotland.

Could you as SMEs advise me if this is a relevant course for someone looking to get into the industry in Scotland please? I know the Building Regs are different but what about the actual Full Scope - is it useful?

it's foundation course. it will allow membership of niceic or select ( think, as scottish rules are different to here). however, it won't give candidates the practical skills needed, so although it will allow them to work as domestic installers (is there such a thing in scotland). maybe a scots spark member would be able to advise better thas this poor sassenach.

There is no such thing as a domestic installer in Scotland so it's probably not relevant.
The best thing to do would be to get in touch with the Scottish Electrical Charitable Training Trust and they will be able to advise you on routes into the industry in Scotland.

Thanks for your responses so far, it's helping me understand a bit more and that way giving the 'right' advice to people rather than guessing.
