Hi

I currently work for a electrical contractor company

Ive got C&G 2330 installation etc... with gold card

My gold card has currently run out but obviously the company won't renew it if i leave, how can i get this renewed? do i need to?

I am looking to leave to and set up on my own but i was wondering what would i need to do be part p/be able to test and issue test certificates?

I know this may seem a simple question but any help/advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Get it renewed before you hand your notice in.

What other qualifications and experience in the electrical installation field, 17th/18th etc do you hold

you must have seen the film???
I did Tel but retention is not a forte of mine, especially with non specific films. As you can guess, not a big fan the first one was OK but in this case CD 2 was not up to much imo

Get it renewed before you hand your notice in.
I take it you mean if the employer pays for it.You can renew it without taking the H & S test if you have taken the test and passed it within a specified No. of years if not you will need to take the test again then to apply for renewal of the card.

How far in the future are you planning to give your notice as all this takes time? When does your card expire as your employer would not want to pay if the card is not due to expire?

You can renew your gold card yourself.log into your MYECS and you will see what you need to renew.
Technically you don’t need any qualifications to I&T your own work.

Is your gold card a provisional gold card with your companies name on it?

If so then it'll become invalid when you leave and you'll have to do an NVQ Level 3 and AM2 to apply for one yourself

or they seem to give them away with promotional boxes of Kelloggs. . Or so it appears with the amount of 18 year olds flashing theirs about :p
