Good evening everyone, I’m a 26 yr old London black cab driver looking to get started in your trade... as i have no contacts to get myself experience in the trade, I feel my only option is to pay quite a large sum of money to enroll in an Electrical course (City & guilds level 2 2365 ) with a time Frame of 2 months. Do you think this is worth doing and will give me some skills to become an electricians mate?

Thanks

The level 2 2365 is a good entry point. whether you get maximum benefit from condensed courses verses longer is down to you and how you learn.
When it comes to the level 3 2365 you will find nearly all reputable colleges offer 24+ advanced learning loans (student loan) so dont pay it back until earning decent money.

2 Months in my opinion is not an adequate time period to properly absorb and fully understand all of the information contained in the syllabus for the 2365 L2. Get the course book from city and guilds and have a look. I would always suggest doing this qualification by way of an evening class/college based course over a longer period. There is nothing stopping you gaining employment as an electricians mate whilst you do this.
