Not sure if anyone else as come across this, but I've been asked to provide a changeover arrangement for a farm. It's 3phase 100amp but what provision will be needed for a generator connection out of the changeover?
To my knowledge commando sockets only come in a max of 63amp.... it will be a portable generator but as yet that hasn't been purchased or specified.
Any ideas?

Probably! But as they haven't bought it or organised a standby contract with anyone, I've no idea.
I didn't know if there was an 'industry' standard or anything larger than a 63a commando type arrangent

I would ask your client for a details of the gen set he intends buying along with any technical specifications, otherwise you could be lumbered with equipment you have purchased on his behalf which is not required. The documentation he should provide will have recommendations / instructions on how to install this Gen Set.

You can get 125A sockets easily
