I am a subcontractor carrying out weekly and monthly PPM schedule on a small airfield with around 10 movements of aircraft per day. The Main Contractor is demanding we have our own Airside Insurance policy. Can anyone advise? Is it required and how much would it likely to cost?

Is there a specific exclusion clause in any of your existing policies? If there is I can't imagine a bolt on extra would be prohibitively expensive.

Bit of rather vague information here. I do not know costs etc. but I do know that in my previous job there were a lot of very specific requirements for working airside with vehicles, chemicals and personnel. I think we had an arrangement whereby if we were going airside we had to inform the insurance company each time and that was when the insurance applied.
I would expect that this would be required insurance by the airport.
