Hello folks, not posted in a while, been busy. However this week I have been slightly busier than usual.
I completed my AM2, results due tomorrow morning 8 AM...

I did the PRE AM2, I did find it a big help. Glad I did it.
AM2 consisted of the following - Risk Assessment, Safe Isolation. There are 8 circuits to do, nothing you can't do if you're doing your AM2. Inspection and Test, Fault Finding and Online Exam. I didn't find it too taxing at all. I will admit my nerves where kicking in first thing Tuesday morning, but after a hour, I was banging up cable for fun. As others have posted there is nothing to worry about, I know it's cliché, but there isn't anything you can't do if you're in for your AM2...
I will give as much info as I can, but not too much. I did think when I viewed other posts and thought, thanks lads, thanks for sharing the wealth....but after doing it, I think there where right. 2 reasons, the AM2 varies from centre to centre and if you half know what to expect you won't be 100% on your game. You need your wits about you, 8 and a half hours, seems a fair amount of time and I finished with 20 mins to spare.

Like I said I will share what I know, but not give away too much.

I will post my results when I get them.

Thanks All

Its a very waterd down exam. Considering its the final exam before your seen as competent it should be harder.. it should be seen as the 2391 exam was seen... low pass mark bum twitcher

Congratulations mate. Where did you had the am2?
I have mine at College of North west london in a month.
I'm a bit nervous about seting the motor overload and the online exam.

did my 2391 back in 2001, was a proper test back then, the written was quite intense, practical quite easy, overall a very satisfying pass though........

kat, no motor.

its unlikely you will have to set the overload. set it to the figure on the rating plate or info provided.

take your time and follow the spec exactly, i wired everything first (checked before i pulled any cable in)

a noticed a couple others that didnt and wired it wrong.

kat, i didnt have a motor for mine.

if you are using a Schneider acti9 board remember to pull the tabs down above the mcb
