Hi guys

Ive never posted in the forum I'm a bit of a lurker and always been able to find what i need in a pinch thanks to alot of you guys out there.

I have tried my best searching and can't seem to find any info on the data cable installation. Now i recently took my am2 exam and passed everything except for this.

I used the compartments in the top and bottom of the dado trunking but i think i didnt install the plastic separator properly as ive never done this type of cable.

Can anyone show me a picture of how this piece should be installed as if i were to take the exam again i woukdnt want to fail the same part again ;-(

Thanks

Unfortunately I don't have a picture of one, however you get a small plastic cover and place it over the data cable where it travels between compartments.

I ran my data in the top and bottom compartments too, so its most likely the cover that failed you. Its just a white rectangle with no back on it

Thanks for the reply

I know which piece your talking about i guessed that would be it and i used it as you said.
I must have used it the wrong way round or something. One side is shallow and one deep. I placed it so it would be deep.

Hi xpepx,

Sorry to drag up an old post but I’ve just failed AM2 as well on the data circuit. I honestly don’t know where I went wrong. I couldn’t see any strain relief on the back of the cat5 socket but apart from that I feel I did everything else correctly.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Thank you.
