Amp buzzing Advice Please

hi,

After a bit of advice please.

Currently through my amplifier I am hearing a buzzing noise. I have told this is most probably a earthing problem. Can this be rectified easily? Can the one socket be fixed or does it need to be a whole re-wire.

I have tried different equipment and it still buzzes so it has to be something to do with the socket.

There are lots of possible causes of buzz on audio systems, a fault on the power socket is actually one of the less likely ones. First, please can you confirm exactly what equipment you have heard the buzz on, what functions were in use (e.g playing CD player model x through integrated amp model x), and whether the buzz volume varied with the main volume control on the amp.

It's possible a capacitor has failed, or a solder joint has come loose. It could also be something called "ground loop" hum problem. If possible, please share more information to allow for more specific help. Like, what kind of amp do you have? What kind of instrument are you using with the amp? Are you using any pedals? Etc.
