Hello, as a few of you might know I have got an interview for a job in a hospital tomorrow. I have already received some great advice from some members here, that advice has been truly appreciated.

The hospital is now moving premises and the job entails PPM work and reactive maintenance. If I am lucky enough to gain the position it could lead to assisting to decommission the old hospital. (I expect I will be much better at pulling the stuff out than installing it....grin).

I am presently reading HTM-06-02 (thanks shoei!).

I was just wondering if anyone here had any experience of working in a hospital environment?
What was your experience like?
What advice would you give me?

Many thanks,
Sym.

Yep, I did a job at the MRC Cyclotron in W12 during my apprenticeship, the nurses can be friendly the social club is fun and the beer is cheap and don't scare the other electricians by hiding in the morgue.......

I was just wondering SWD...were they still using VIR braided cables when you did your apprenticeship?

The particle accelerator was an interesting bit of kit, 3ft think walls and a massive sliding, was used to make isotopes for cancer patients.

You haven’t lived until you do some maintenance on a Cleanamatic.:)Do they still use them at hospitals?
