Another quiet day today so a bit of retail therapy was in order - this time on a bootlace ferrule crimper. Here he is with his first 6mm crimp. I'm hoping he'll settle into the toolbox in the next few days 'cause he seems a bit stroppy tonight. Maybe it's just me ...

I have to agree with Tel here, looks like you destroyed that crimp, is it me or are you putting ferrules on standard stranded cable as oppose to fine wire/stranded ?.. may explain the result.

A most definite yes - you must have seen that expression more than most because no one else picked it up!

BS7671 requires where fine wire conductors are used, that they be protected from damage.
Various methods are used to provide such protection, ferrules being just one of them.
