Building control chappy red faced !

Today had a building control chappy demand I notify a new fan in a new en suite bathroom. Told him the fan was out side of the zones and therefore not notifiable. Due diligence was done with testing and a minor works cert produced . He was adamant tho . . . . .

Don't think the zones comes into it.
A Bathroom is a special location, same as a Kitchen.
Providing it's not an upgrade/swap in the same location, it's new, so notifiable.

Already checked on nic website..... as lo g as outside of zones it's not notifiable

If its above 2.25m from floor level then its not notifiable from what i understand of the rules that changed in 2013 irrespective of distance from edge of bath or showers etc... if the council jobsworth from building control is going to be funny about it you could just notify it for a quiet life.

average 750cm from the middle of the sink. but not to close because of splashes.

The building regs suggest 300mm minimum.... I tend to try for 600mm, but most appliance leads are longer than this.

At the end of the day we can't be held responsible for stupidity.
