Dare I ask why Class 2 Steve?

Oh Mike!! I knew the question would be asked :smile5: but tried to avoid as I'm sure they'll be something wrong!!

The customer has a class 1 metal halogen floodlight attached at present, it is broken. I thought this will be an easy one!! I turn up and there is no earth to the light (its not just snipped off and hidden). The customer does not want another cable run to it.

The data sheet states it has to be earthed Mike. I have looked at a number of plastic/polycarbonate ones thinking they may be double insulated but haven't found one that states it.

The one's I've linked are very definitely double insulated, that's why I linked them.

Then you don't replace the light! Simple really.

I had the same problem. I fitted a timeguard one. Although it has a connection for earth it's purely a loop. It has the double insulated sign on the cover and printed on the case. 6w LED if I recall
