Can anybody help?
Customer has TT system.Consumer unit(Magnuss brand ???) has 10 ways,5 of which RCD protected and 5 unprotected.
4 of the 5 unprotected circuits are lighting and these have no cpc.
Customer informed that all circuits need RCD protection and this will be done with change of CU.
Explained options of rewire or running separate 4mm cpc for lighting circuits but customer presently is not in a position for expense or upheaval of these measures.
Explained the option of class II light fittings and warning notices and the customer has opted for this.
In order to complete the work I want to purchase some inexpensive temporary pendants for the plaster ceiling roses and surface luminaires to replace the class I fittings until the customer has the funds and time to purchase more suitable fittings.
I estimated £10-£15 each to replace standard ceiling rose and pendant(£1.60) with a temporary fitting.
In the past every cheap luminaire I looked at was double insulated(possibly because they were made from plastic). Now despite 4 or 5 hours googling I cant't seem to find a cheap class II fitting anywhere.
In a lot of cases no class is given, but on those sites that specialise in double insulated lighting they are too upmarket .
Does anybody know where I can purchase cheap class II fittings.
Thanks
