there's a boiler in a cupboard in a small bathroom. Would you install CO in the bathroom outside the cupboard, or would you install just outside the bathroom? In bathroom it should be outside of all zones etc, just access from above is very limited.

I'd probably place outside the bathroom looking to protect the adjacent bedrooms. I seem to recall (imagining?) the steam in the bathroom may upset CO alarm. Nothing wrong with a good battery powered detector in situations where wiring is difficult. Ha - see you just got the manufacturers instructions:)

There's no bedrooms in the proximity, outside the bathroom is a hall way, then connected is as kitchen and a utility room. Still, after reading MI I think just away from the bathroom door will be best in this situation.

In the cupboard with the boiler - and fit a battery one then zones are irrelevant...

The ones I've fitted, also stipulate (if fitted within same room as appliance) to be located within a certain distance of appliance. Not easy is it! I would ring the manufacturer for advice.
