condition report socket not working

Help having another blonde moment where abouts on a condition report do I record that there is no power to a socket outlet

Silly question time... did you take it off the back box or just test from the front?

lol not that blonde haha it appears to be a spur but must be from a junction box as non of the other sockets had been spurred off and I wasn't pulling boards to check for junction boxes

Is it controlled from a switched fused spur? ie a fridge socket or electric fire?

No just a bedroom socket I just not sure if I should not put pass on one of the tick boxes for it.

You could of put an FI next to 'condition of accessories' etc on the tick sheet , but as you have checked the back of the socket for power then , you already know that the socket itself is not at fault, so it is an observation that is not on the tick sheet so just write it on the observation page.

Could be this is a socket left over from a re-wire, or it could be one that has been disconnected, but not blanked off.

Just to add, I would not use the code FI, unless you consider it may be dangerous.

The tick list is an inspection schedule and not a test schedule. As stated note it in the observations section.

If this was on any part of a ring I would take it off for a look. I assume the ring is intact and this isn't a spur.
