Hi,

Got to move a cooker switch down a couple of feet from current location, no problem there, but when the new cooker comes, it will have a light switch above it. (Currently no cooker, although the switch is there). Moving the light switch is going to turn a small job into a pretty big one.
advice please ?
Thanks
Jim

I always hate getting called to move a lightswitch as more often than not it is not as simple as the homeowner thought. One time i was called as a homeowner had a new door hung but opposite of how it used to open so now the switch is behind it. Turns out there was no rcd to protect the cable as it will be chased in <50mm without mechanical protection, no main bonding and no earth to the lighting. Needless to say i did not get that job

A classic example of the customer not thinking about the ramifications of their new cooker....... As a spark this isn't difficult is it?

So bonding? RCD's? you know the normal stuff!
