Hi all, I'm currently undergoing Electrical Apprenticeship course, and was wondering When I fully complete it and become a qualified Electrician, what would be the best course of action to take after leaving the company I get my qualification from..... e.g Start as a mate? Immediately look for a different company to work for e.g BT or something?

Thanks.

Not sure why you would want to change career paths this early, you have spent 4 years training so in my opinion you should use it, I do however agree with changing companies so you can show people what your capable of without still being "the boy/girl" but as Pete said you will be a qualified electrician so apply for that. Get onto a company and work your nuts off work your way up and gain experience of working alone develop yourself first.

Learn....learn....learn! Knowledge is power, if you get a chance to work with someone doing testing whether it be new installations or periodics, learn from them, ask questions, ask to use the tester and have a go.
