Discuss CTI RCBOs ...................... in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

O

Octopus

even before the 18th edition suggested we should fit the same manufacturers products, I have always been inclined to do it anyway ...

So now I need to locate RCBOs to go in a fairly new CTI metal cu ..

Anyone know who sells this kit?

It looks almost identical to Lewdens, control gear

Thanks

I think replacing MCB's or RCD's in a CU like-for-like with the same brand could arguably maintain the fairytale designated KA rating due to 'type testing'.

Replacing a device such as an MCB with and RCD or RCBO or adding RCBO's or even AFI's to a CU that never had them could arguably be a deviation from it's original design and negate the type tested rating.

Well, come the 1st January 2019 we in the UK have little option but to go for the same make ....

The vested interests on JPEL / 64 get to make more money

Agree - even with a new (but different) device from the same manufacturer I think it means we should really have a statement that specific configuration is supported by them. Dear oh dear.
