OK here goes...

All the light switches in my house are set at 1450mm or there abouts from finished floor level. If I am redecorating a room and moving a light switch from one side of the door to the other do I have to set it at 1200mm? Making it the only light switch set at the correct height? Or can I just set it 1450mm like the rest?

The 1200mm is for new buildings. If you are altering an existing circuit then you can keep it as the same height.

Take a look at the pictures, on here, of some of the electrical work that people get paid for. Nothing or anybody ever gets done for it. The 'Authorities' don't give a sh..........

yes it is fine. basically, heights should be similar to existing unless existing heights are stupid.
