Hi,

I have recently moved into a new house with a Deltabell Dummy Box which is totally useless because at night it is not lit up like the full alarm systems around the estate. If I were to buy a complete Detlabell Plus Lightbox and supply it with a 12v supply, will it replicate a full alarm system lightbox?

Many thanks

you can buy a LED module to fit in the dummy box. takes a C type or D type duracell. OK. you'll need to replace the battery every 12 mnonths or so, but it's only a few quid for the module. otherwise buy a complete sounder unit and wire it in to the alarm system.

Thanks for the response telectrix, have you a link for the led module? Can you also buy a lamp to light up the box with an LDR?

We don't have an alarm system, we have had a box installed as a deterrent.

actually building working alarm systems (simple ones) is not hard. I had to learn a lot about them when i was schooling for locksmith.
the key to them being successful is knowing how to hide them.
ill have to look some of them up
most include the use of relays, pressure switches, vibration sensors, or if you want to get more sophisticated use motion detection or heat/ pir sensors.
its actually an interesting field to study!
