I saw a post from an american tool reviewer and there was a unit that you can plug a load of these batteries into and get 110v out of it, so portable 110v. Not the cheapest solution I imagine, but pretty good if it works.
 
Seems to be "coming soon" even over there so perhaps by the time it is actually out it'll be over here too.
