Discounts for cash

The last few quotes I have given the customer is insistant on a discount for cash. I refuse to as the price I give is what it actually costs and as I do everything above board and by the book and as such a cheque doesnt really effect me.

Thing is I think it is costing me jobs. What is the rest of your thoughts on this and if you do how much do you "bump" up the price to be able to give the supposed discount

I get this quite a lot also.
I always try to give my best price and usually whether cash or cheque, it goes in the bank to pay the mortgage.
If you start knocking 15% off for cash it starts eating away at your profit...its bloody annoying and its usually because they have been given cash for some reason and dont want to put it through their books....which ive nothing against by the way if you dont need to, but the taxman dont take no prisoners
