I learned this chapter in highschool but I never understood the use of it.I know that you use derivatives in RLC but I don't know if these are for electricians or engineers.Do you use dy/dx?Have you ever used calculus in your life as an electrician? We learnt it in highschool but unfortunately I didn't completely understand the use of it in real life.

I did differentiation and some integration years ago in my studies. I must admit, in my line of work, it never occurs, with any relevance, that is. But it's there and to become a much learned electrical engineer it's a must. Depends how much you want to get into it and to what level you wish to study.
To be honest, you'd probably be better off getting into Kirchoff's law rather than Maxwell's equations......unless you're after a degree.

That’s about the stage that I went cross eyed at A Level maths. I suspect that calculus would only come into play of you were some sort of electrical design engineer.

Most of that type of mathematics,is used in financial instruments and data profiling in the field of marketing...it's a brave new world...

To be a truly versatile electrician, A-level maths or more is very useful. There is a lot of head-scratching and guessing at things that are easily answered with basic algebra and trigonometry. Integral and differential calculus are not that useful to the electrician but used daily in electronic and electrical engineering.

As a general domestic sparky you probably will never need to use calculus. If you work in motor control then yes, calculus skills would be essential.
