Hi, I have a 6 gang grid plate, which has switches for my Fridge, Freezer and Dishwasher, and each has there own connection point around the kitchen for the respective appliance. I am wanting to move the connection point for the fridge about 150cm, and lower the freezer one about 20cm, and change it into a normal socket. Is this possible, and will i need it to be signed off. Thanks in advance.

Regards Paul

first question is are you competent to carry out this alteration safely? secondly, a minor works certificate is desirable as this would entail testing the circuit/s for compliance and safety.

Hi, No, I would be getting an electrician in to do the work, but i was unsure as to the need of a cert.

But, yes its possible, providing the work done complies with BS7671. Special attention to things like:
safe zones that cables are allowed in
Methods for connecting and extending wiring
and others
