Hi

As more and more people use the internet to find businesses, I was wondering how many electricians have a website promoting there services?

If you do, do you get much business from it; or do you find it pointless?

Many Thanks

Leo

Obviously I have a website or two so I voted yes, and they get me ALL my business in, so I selected that one.

It's important as part of your branding and general business runnings these days to have a website with at least your contact details on it so when people search for your name (perhaps they've seen your van but didn't have a pen to hand to write the number down) your website can be found.

And having a personal email address looks much more professional than a hotmail or yahoo email address (why advertise them and not you?).

A domain name is £2.49 and some hosting would be about £20 for 12 months. If it got one good customer in 10 years it was probably worth it but you'll find high ranking well optimised websites will get thousands of hits a day - all potential customers.

If anybody would like more advice on building websites or getting them ranked well in the search engines then please feel free to PM me. It's what I do for a living. :)

Hi

Yes, Microsofts Small business offer at the moment is good for a basic website. Definetly worth having if you don't want to spend any money!

Some interesting results from the poll at the moment, glad to see the majority of people get lots of clients from their websites.

Dan: Are you a designer or developer (or a bit of both)? :)

The same offer from dan applies to me, if anyone wants any device about websites or and IT matter for that matter don't hesitate to ask me.:D

Many Thanks

Leo
