Hi doing barn conversion for parents. Fitted air source heat pump. Applied for rhi payment but bit stuck. Want to no if ocupied for 6 months or not. If not get a meter or more than no meter. Would i benifit from having a meter or not. Any ideas

I cant work out your post properly but don't you have to be a MCS registered installer anyway so the customer (your parents) can claim the RHI.
 
Having a heat meter fitted does not give any benefit under the domestic RHI as annual payments are capped at the maximum EPC annual kWh value in any case, which is what you would get paid with no meter.

Just wait a while to submit the RHI application until the answer to the 6 months occupancy question is 'yes' although the tariff might drop by a fraction.
