ELECSA Certification Scheme Elecsa Assesment

Does anyone know if Elecsa are really strict on you not keeping copies of BS761 certificates? It'll be my second year with Elecsa in Jan and wanted to know what might happen if I don't have copies of every certificate I've given over the year, would it be a non-conformance and you get asked to go back to the customer and take a photocopy or something like that?

Anybody have any information on this subject?

Perhaps it depends on whether they notice. My last assessment with ELECSA, the assessor asked to view my certificates, he browsed through a few, picked out one at random for the odd question, and then moved on.

Now if I was assessing, I'd probably know in advance of 1 or 2 jobs notified, and asked to see the specific certificates relating to those jobs, ... but I don't know they are that organized.

If you dont have copies of your own certs then how can you defend yourself if there is a problem and one of your certs has been altered? How can you prove allteration if you dont have copy of the original?

You SHOULD keep all your certs..... like your tax records for 7 years.
