Discuss elecsa safe isolation in the Certification NICEIC, NAPIT, Stroma, BECSA Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Steinel type tester with self-test should suffice.
A guy i used to work with went the whole 9 yards and got one of those actual test lamps off of college, with the proving unit and everything, but you'd be looking at the best part of 100 quid for something you're only going to use once.

Mmmh, i actually use mine regularly !

WHAT!! Are you saying that you dont actaully test the live source, isolate, test on proving unit and then padlock everytime!! Good god. I must stop doing this then too. I mights save 3 hours every day.

Likewise. I asked the assessor shall I demonstrate safe isolation? I had the lockoff devices, lock and warning sign etc in my kit. He said no don't worry, we're the only ones here! Also used the incoming tails to prove my voltage tester.
