I don't really give a flying ---- who gets in, it'll make next to no difference to me.
The super rich will continue to get even wealthier at the expense of everyone else. This country is haven for them.
I've noticed recently that this particular topic is starting to get more airtime, and us plebians are becoming more aware.

I predict a riot! :smilielol5:

Being a cynic I simply put it down to the fact that Labour keep on banging on about it as they have absolutely nothing to offer on the majority of policies, least of all immigation, the housing shortage & cost of buying and renting (caused by immigration), the creaking NHS (caused by immigration), the creaking schools places issue (caused by immigration), the lack of pay increases (caused by too many bottom feeders drawn in by immigration)...... just for starters.

It's got shag all to do with immigration, it's to do with Britain (and London property as investments for one) being a tax haven for the super rich.
What is it, extra domiciles (I know that's completly the wrong term! :) ) or something or other, get a load of tax breaks.

It was initially started to encourage massive investment which would trickle down wealth to the scum. It hasn't worked! They're just getting exponentially richer.

Like the USA we have things in abundance
We have super rich fraudsters paying less tax than a street cleaner and getting a lordship off the torries for their enterprise skills

Housing shortage caused by not building enough houses

School place shortage caused by under investment in schools

Low pay caused by greedy bosses.
Example, yesterday we heard of the billions paid to the Premier league, hundreds of thousands paid per week to footballers, yet the same clubs do not even pay their staff a living wage. Pure evil greed.

Bed shortage & broken a&e caused by under investment
I was appalled at the number of immigrants in my local A&E. One of them bandaged my arm and another took me for an x-ray

Can't see that Clive, the SNP are socialists they hate the Tories.
Er....they have some socialist policies and "some" socialist Mp's....but there are plenty of right wingers in there...the party hierarchy is from "tory bloodstock" lol. They are just not stupid and realise what the electorate of Scotland generally "want". They are well run and a pretty clever operation....They give with one hand but cut with the other. I could not care less what their roots are though as their policies at this time are generally in tune with my thinking. I have also lost complete faith in Scottish Labour and in particular my worse than useless local "safe" until now labour Mp....maybe it is just change for the sake of change....but i think the consensus of even the whole uk is we are fairly fed up of the state of politics in general...

No debate needed they and the unions buggered things up big style. There was a bit of a recession going on though. The whole of Europe was in trouble. The unions were running the country and THEY brought down the labour governments. It has/had a lot more to do with world economics rather than much that labour or conservative did in the 70's as a whole.

Strange how back then and more recently Labour never bears any of the blame it is always down to world / global economics

I think I did say the unions were running things and did bugger things up. Nobody can really dispute that. BTW the Labour chancellor Denis Healy stated correctly that the UK needed to balance its books...he was booed off stage at the tuc...but he still went ahead and implemented fixed budgets for government departments...which was needed and is basically the model we use today.....the unions had got too powerful no doubt. They needed modernising and maybe a bit of regulating.....but imho we have went too far and most workers pay the price today for the destruction of the unions.

The unions may have been running the country but Labour was setting the extremely poor wage rises we got with their wage restraint

Scargill was the unions worst enemy he used the NUM members in an attempt to bring down a conservative government and failed

So endless strikes in car factories in the UK, was a world economic factor?
So endless Civil Servants strikes, ditto above
So endless garbage collection stikes, ditto above?

I could go on....

That would make it a very long post

There were no endless car factories strikes,
There were no endless Civil Servants strikes,
There were no endless garbage collection strikes,

Where are you getting your information from?

I'll dispute that.
Then as now it was the banks and the City running the country.

So are you saying there were no strikes not sure where you were then

ha ha ha.

SO open the doors and allow 20 million in then - and send them all to Scotland

Sorry Murdoch, read and re-read this thread, can't see one post that suggests this. Perhaps you could give us the post number.

So are you saying there were no strikes not sure where you were then

Again, read the post & then read the reply.

Endless strikes, Murdoch repeated 'endless'

If you think this is true, where were you?

The SNP used some economic growth figures during the referendum that were dependant on immigration.

As a Scotsman living in Scotland married to an English woman, all I can say is ....

... the sooner Hadrians wall gets rebuilt the better.

The biggest problem we have is the effing English moving here and nicking our jobs and wimmin.

Not only that but they buy up all the houses for holiday homes.

AND they bring their families over with them first chance they get.

They even have the cheek to claim benefits when they get over 65!!!

I've had enough of 'em send 'em all home.
