So just to add.

Not all building control offices accept an EICR in place of an EIC.

So OP check with building control or you may be faced with more costs
 
It's good to let it all out

EG: I've not noticed any of the schemes "pushing back" on the changes proposed for the 18th edition - or even saying delay it.

Why not?

Because they would lose revenue.

So its alright for them to recommend we ALL have to implement this stuff and buy the books, take exams, etc and they can sit back and estimate how much (more) profit they will make.

On the contrary I've watched niceic and napit webinars were they've attached comments to the DPC dismissing quite a few of the proposed changers including the earth electrode and especially part 8.
Have a look on YouTube.
Napit have especially commented on the changes and recommended their own 'improvements ' if you like.
Worth a watch Murdock.
