Hi all, apologies for coming here to simply ask for advice but I am not particularly electric-savvy and I don't want to make a mistake on my upcoming trip to Thailand. I like to travel light but because of work I need to take my phone and my laptop with me. I checked the details on the chargers and they are listed below. Both have detachable plugs so I figured I could simply buy compatible plugs with the correct connection to the charger instead of messing around with adapters. I already have a US Figure 8 cable (with 2 straight prongs) which I believe will work in Thailand and I have read that if I buy a Euro cloverleaf cable (with 2 round prongs) that this will also work as the sockets there takes both.
Is there any issue with using a US and a Euro cable that would make them incompatible with any Thai standard cables I'm unaware of or are all of these cables just the same?
Anker Power Per 5 A2124 - Figure 8 Cable
Input: 100-240V 1.1A 50-60Hz
Output 5V=8A (2.4A max per port)
Dell 65W - Cloverleaf 3 Pin Cable
Input: 100-240V 1.7A 50-60Hz
Output 19.55V=3.34A
I have read that "Thailand uses 220V AC electricity. Power outlets feature two-prong round or flat sockets." So I believe my chargers will both work just fine though I can find no mentioned of the Hz figure anywhere.
I guess I'm looking for a little reassurance and guidance to see if I'm on the right path - if anyone has any experience of Thailand and their sockets then I would love to hear from you.
Thanks so much reading and in advance for any help you can offer.
Michael
