Hi all, I am just introducing myself.
I was a programmer for many years but decided on a career change to become an electrician. I have say my City & Guilds qualifications but always keen to learn more.

Being on my own, it is hard to do any form of learning or CPD. I'm keen to not to just make it all up when I don't know so always looking to find ways to improve and educate myself. This seems to be the best option so far!

You could go down the city and guilds route and become a JIB gold card holder that way you could offer your services on a wider scope

Welcome to the forums :)

I was a software engineer for many years (quite a few ex IT people on here - must be something in the IT watercoolers).

I would disagree with your last statement though... you're your own boss so you can elect to take yourself off to college or on courses of your choosing... unless of course your boss is a right pain in the posterior (like mine is) ;)

Welcome to the chicken coop.
You don't say what C&G certs you have, are they IT or Electrical related?
There are some quite clever chickens in here and a few cocks, but the less said about that the better. ;)
